As usual, today I was in the schools again. From across the third/forth grade room, I saw a black t-shirt with pink glittery writing on it. After a second, I noticed it said: . "What Stinks About Boys" Ugh. I hate these kinds of shirts anyway, but I asked the young lady (a whole 8 years old) to come over so I could read it. Two of the five comments were of particular interest. 1. Boys don't gossip. 2. Boys don't shop. Where have all the feminists gone? Did their heads get hal...

This week has been insane. Besides all the hope and joy of my social circle that turned into saddness and anger early in the week (not meant to be an offensive comment, just some feelings!) one event after another seems to have sabotaged our (my boyfriend and my) life. It's unbelieveable. Monday My boyfriend works at a research center for health care and the likes. The manager there tend to not like men with facial hair or earings (or so I hear). He was on the phone and reading whil...

As I was walking into the elementary school I teach at on Thursday, I realized it was a polling place. I looked down at my bag where my Kerry button was pinned. Uhg, I thought. I can't wear this thing in there. It's only fair. I took it off. Walking in, I saw a slow stream of old folks going from the gym to the door. Not too much excitement, but enough. I entered my classroom. Not only did the lead teacher not acknowledge me for 20 minutes, not even eye contact (which is personal ...

Thank you wisefawn. Sadly, I haven't had the time to put together the blog that suggests, if not proves, in my book, that elections hardly mean a thing anymore. A deal between the Bush Dynasty and the makers of so many of the electronic voting machines has been created. The same company that makes the voting machines will be installing a wave of ATM machines in Iraq. Big surprise. It figures. Like everything else the Bush Dynasty does, it's all about the power and money. Yuck. If an...

She’d been gone only a short time. To me it seemed forever. It was at least long enough that I feared I’d forget what her voice sounded like any day. I was stubborn, and angry, even bitter. Not him though. I thought he was naïve to still have hope. I’d given up soon after her short-lived effort died. Somehow he never did. Naivety, I thought. He dialed. Time dragged. She answered. My heart jumped. I pushed it back down quickly so he wouldn’t notice. Trying to...

Beep... beep...beep Sleep Beep...beep...beep Sleep Beep...beep... Rush, rush, rush. Slippers, robe, bathroom, coffee, cat, fish, plant light, lunch, books, planner, binder, backpack, keys, phone, wallet, jacket, shoes, lights Slam! Repeat daily in the a.m. Not on foggy days though. I savor the time between engagements. The air softens. I can't help but be lulled, slow my walk, breath it in, let it go, stroll. It lightens my load, as if the air itself is acknowle...

Sleeping alone is different. It's so refreshing, assuming you know your partner will be back. For the second time in over three years, I get to sleep alone tonite. I get a whole bed to myself. It's almost unbelievable. Being just over 5 feet tall, I don't take up much room in the bed. It's only a double, but still, I keep to my side leaving room for the other one. He'd over 6 feet tall, and lanky! Long arms and legs get tossed around the bed all night. Sometimes I feel like I...

I don't understand the referral thing. At least a couple blogs have 1 referral showing up, but when I click it, it brings me to a yahoo link, which in turn says that the session has expired if I click on it. What's the deal?
