You have declared that you are going to Canada so now be one your way, and
Good Riddance!!!!!
Enjoy your life there.
Even implying that you are moving to canada because of the political world here makes you a deserter in my eyes so the
Good Riddance
is well deserved. Go ahead and run instead of being part of the solution. We will be fine without those who are not strong enough to stay and help in the process of making the compromises.

Hmm...help? What kind of help? Monetary? Emotional? Obtaining visa sort of help? Thanks for the offer, but I think I'll do just fine getting to Canada on my own. I'm wondering if you have ever really traveled outside of the United States. Have you ever noticed that no one really hates Canadians EXCEPT citizens from the United States? There is nothing wrong with minding your own business and having peaceful foreign relations. I'm not a person who is soley for my bank account status--so if my taxes increase to help people afford medical insurance or better educations for their children, or new advances in clean energy, well then sign me up.
I'd be willing to bet I've done a LOT more traveling outside the US than you have! US Navy for 6 years!

drmiller
You don't know anything about her or where she's traveled. You could try asking her, or at least not making assumptions that are the be all end all of worldly experience. There are some people that traveled and experienced more than you have, you know. I'm not trying to discredit your experiences, either. I know they are valid and you learned a lot. I just think you ought to take other people's into consideration, as well.
In General,
Some people feel like they want to run. Telling them just to go isn't going to help anything in this country and its healing process. It just alienates more people, making the process harder. Even though I disagree with tast and drmiller doesn't mean I shuoldn't listen to their insight. It's the only way we're going to heal this country. We have to start really listening to each other, acknowledging the needs of each other, and the faults of each other, and our mistakes. We cannot say
Good Riddance
when someone expresses that they want to leave the country. Most likely, that person (I am not speaking for you here WLC) is just expressing their unhappiness with this country. It's become a sort of saying even. I hear it all the time. It's a cry for change, one of dissatisfaction, and for help. Not everything people say needs to be taken literally.

Truth is subjective to a person's perception.
The truth is not out there.
Nothing is true, everything is permitted.
